I am a web developer in the Chicago Area. My favorite trend in the world of web dev is the way ActionScript and JavaScript are used to increase the richness of a user's experience with a site. I am a front-end developer by trade, but I have been pushing myself towards using/learning php and MySQL as the backend for Flash (I like AMFPHP the most), and now I understand how a rich internet application works. Additionally, I started doing tutorials with Ruby on Rails with Flex on the front-end and CakePHP to see how MVC works on the Server-Side.
Aside from making web pages, I like the outdoors and I enjoy photography, they are excellent together. Anytime I go out of town I bring my Minolta SLR and burn a couple rolls of 35. I started collecting old LP's a couple of years ago, mostly classic rock but lately I've been listening to Al Green and The Isley Brothers. I play a little guitar and bass but I really want to learn piano. My favorite things on television are Target Commercials and United Airline Commercials (I'm not kidding).
